MORE than 35 firefighters today tackled a fire at a large disused country house at Leiston.
The blaze broke out at around 5.40am at Leiston Hall Farm on the B1119.
Flames engulfed the roof of the building and the fire service said that half of the roof area was alight.
Fire crews from Leiston, Aldeburgh, Saxmundham, Framlingham, Orford, Ipswich and Felixstowe tackled the blaze.
Crews continued damping down but the blaze had been put out by 8.20am.
