A hard-hitting independent film depicting the realities of the illegal drug trade in the UK is being show in Ipswich next month.

County Lines is being shown for professionals working with children, families and communities in Ipswich at Jerwood Dancehouse, Foundry Lane, on September 12.

The film focuses on 14-year-old Tyler Hughes, sent from London to sell drugs in a neglected town.

Alone and unprotected, he finds himself trapped in a series of complex and high-risk situations in a film showing the serious threat the county lines issue - of big city gangs using youngsters to transport drugs to smaller towns - poses to Britain’s children.

The showing will also include a question and answer session with the film’s writer and director, Henry Blake.

Passionate about realism, Mr Blake’s work is heavily research-based, character-lead drama.

The film can be seen at 1.30pm, 4pm or 6.30pm, but please note that the showings are an 18+ event.
