TWO people have been killed following a collision between two cars in Newmarket today.The accident happened in Snailwell Road, Newmarket, at 12.26pm.

A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of careless driving after two people died in a road crash in Newmarket today.

The accident, which involved two cars, happened in Snailwell Road, Newmarket, at 12.26pm.

The male and female who were fatally injured are believed to be husband and wife and both in their 50s. A rear seat passenger in the same car, who was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital with serious leg injuries, is thought to be their son and in his 30s.

The male driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision was taken to West Suffolk Hospital suffering minor injuries. He is now in custody at Bury St Edmunds Police Station.
