IPSWICH couple Sue and Stephen Mitchell can thank their lucky Star today as they begin a life of married bliss together.

IPSWICH couple Sue and Stephen Mitchell can thank their lucky Star today as they begin a life of married bliss together.

The delighted duo, who met through our personal ad pages, tied the knot at Ipswich Register Office – but tender words after the ceremony were not restricted to the love birds alone.

"I think the Star is really great," said Stephen, 40. "I would recommend placing an ad to anyone. Dating agencies are waste of money. When I got married before I said it would have to be somebody really special before I did it again.

"Sue passes everything with a green light and she only cost 27p!"

A quick dig in the ribs and Sue was happy to laugh off the bargain bride jibe. "Stephen is very caring and considerate and he's very good with my children," said Sue, who has two daughters Sarah, 11, and Samantha, nine.

"Sam has cerebral palsy and uses a wheel chair to go long distances. Stephen is really good with her. He's like a second dad to them both."

The 37-year-old trainee beauty therapist added: "My mum didn't really approve of me meeting someone through a newspaper ad at first but she likes Stephen, the whole family does."

Stephen, a product worker at Suffolk Foods has three children Liam, 13, Nathan, 11, and Francesca, seven. He added: "The kids all get on really well together. They are just like brothers and sisters."

The couple of Renfrew Road started out on the road to happiness two years ago, when Sue answered an advertisement in the Evening Star. It wasn't long before they moved in together and their happiness was sealed on Saturday when friends and family gathered to hear them exchange vows.

The couple's children were pageboys and bridesmaids and the guests enjoyed as reception at Sue and Stephen's home before waving them off for a romantic honeymoon in Lowestoft.
