TWO people injured in a road accident which claimed the lives of their children are continuing to recover in hospital.

Five-year-old Jake Thompson, from Leaders Way, in Newmarket, and eight-month-old Hannah Louise Sykes, from Dersingham in Norfolk, who were travelling in separate cars, were killed in the accident on the A142 at Stuntney, near Ely, on Boxing Day. Hannah Louise's mother Karen was also killed in the crash.

Jake's mother Davina, 31, who was a passenger with Jake in a Citroen Xantia, is now said to be improving at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, where she is being treated for head and neck injuries. Hannah Louise's father Roy, who was the driver of a Ford Fiesta, is said to be stable at the hospital.

Earlier this week, Jake's father Fraser, 33, was discharged from hospital.
