POLICE today appealed for help from motorists as they investigate a four-car crash which has left a teenager fighting for his life.The accident happened on the London-bound carriageway of the A12 during the morning rush hour yesterday and the injured 18-year-old, who was a passenger in one of the cars, remained in hospital today with life-threatening injuries.

The accident happened on the London-bound carriageway of the A12 during the morning rush hour yesterday and the injured 18-year-old, who was a passenger in one of the cars, remained in hospital today with life-threatening injuries.

The collision happened at about 8.30am at Chelmsford and police are appealing for drivers who were in the area at the time to contact them.

It involved a silver Audi A3, a red Skoda Felicia, a white Vauxhall Corsa and a silver X-Type Jaguar.

The 18-year-old, who is from Middlesex, was the front seat passenger in the Corsa.

He was airlifted to Queen's Hospital in Romford, Essex, and Essex police today said he continued to fight for his life.
