A WOMAN who was hurt when her car hit a tree near an Ipswich road is today back at home after being discharged from hospital.
The accident took place in Colchester Road, between Rushmere Road and Renfrew Road, at around 6am last Thursday.
Police said the woman, believed to be a nurse, had sustained serious injuries in the crash.
However, a spokesman for the force today revealed she had not been as badly hurt as first thought and had made a good recovery.
The accident, which involved a black Nissan Micra, caused severe congestion, with police closing the road for several hours.
The cherry tree hit by the car was uprooted.
