SUFFOLK firefighters were called to a series of field fires today.The first blaze took hold on land near Badingham and involved around 20 acres if field stubble.

FIREFIGHTERS have been called to two blazes in Ipswich.

The first happened in Norwich Road at 4.43pm and involved five square metres of hedgerow and shrubbery.

An appliance from headquarters attended and a hose reel was used to extinguish the flames by 4.58pm.

At 5.44pm crews from headquarters and Princes Street went to a 400metre grass fire in Heath Road and used two hose reels to douse the fire by 6.10pm.
