FIRE crews are tackling a large fire at a duck shed on a Suffolk farm.

FIRE crews have tackled a large fire at a duck shed on a Suffolk farm.

The blaze was reported at just after 9am this morning and six appliances were sent to the scene at the Gressingham Foods site at Loomswood Farm in Debach, near Woodbridge.

A fire service spokesman said the flames caused damage to about a quarter of the of the single-storey building, which is used as a duck shed.

Crews from Framlingham, Ipswich, Debenham, Woodbridge and Bury were involved in the operation and used 16 sets of breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, two main jets, a foam jet and thermal imaging cameras.

The flames were extinguished after about 90 minutes and firefighters had managed to prevent them from spreading to any other buildings at the farm.
