FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in a car at Claydon this evening.
The fire in the car in Paper Mill Lane broke out just before 6.10pm and the vehicle was well alight when a crew from the Colchester Road station in Ipswich arrived.
The fire was brought under control just before 6.40pm.
Earlier, a fire broke out in a stack of straw at Little Saxham near Bury St Edmunds.
A crew from Bury and a crew manning a water carrier from Newmarket were called to the field at the rear of Direct Table Foods just before 4.40pm.
Twenty five tonnes of bailed straw had caught fire. Heavy machinery was being used to break up the straw while the firefighters set about extinguishing the blaze.
