A 38-year-old man who is serving a 10-year sentence for a string of offences has been arrested after he was believed to have escaped Hollesley Bay prison in a taxi.
Police have now arrested Sean Berger, who was suspected to have left the area in a taxi, shortly after 12am this morning.
Officers were called to the open prison to help locate the prisoner and he has since been arrested.
He has been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre, from where he will be returned to the prison system.
Berger is serving a 10-year sentence for a number of offences including theft, escape from lawful custody, actual bodily harm, attempted burglary, robbery and attempted robbery.
