A FORMER Suffolk woman described as a “female Walter Mitty” who siphoned millions for a lavish lifestyle was jailed for five years today.

Embezzler Sharon Bridgewater, who lived in Sudbury before moving to Basingstoke in Hampshire, hid her criminal past to get a job as a finance chief.

The 36-year-old blew some of the money she milked from her company, Hicklin Slade & Partners, on a £90,000 on a state-of-the art entertainment system, and similar amounts on luxury holidays and expensive furniture.

Her £100,000 kitchen featured in a glossy magazine write-up as one the best 25 in the country.

Bridgewater also squandered another £150,000 on her live-in lover's birthday including a £70,000 Ferrari Spider.

Bridgewater was jailed today at London's Southwark Crown Court after it heard she also owned a top-of-the range BMW and six Porsches, including a 50-year-old classic Speedster.

After stealing £2 million from marketing company she felt further thefts could be her undoing, so left to get another job.

Having set up an internet banking facility, she then started milking West End radio recording company Universal Sound Principles out of £55,000.
