A YOUNG man has today been sentenced to three and a half years in prison after he robbed an Ipswich bookmakers armed with a crossbow.

Robert Gillett, 20, of Ashcroft Road, was sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court after pleading guilty to robbery and possession of a crossbow at Ladbrokes in Ellenbrook Road, Chantry, on September 2.
