Children and parents came face-to-face with all manner of creepy crawlies at the Wildlife Family Fun Day at Holywells Park in Ipswich today.
Dozens of families attended the free event, from 12pm to 4pm, exploring the hidden wildlife a Myrtle Meadow.
Those who came were treated to bug hunts, pond dipping, bird box building as well as donkey rides and a host of stalls and attractions.
An Ipswich Borough Council spokesman said: “We were delighted to see so many people here this afternoon – a spot of rain did not dampen the spirits at all.
“We had a lot of attractions on offer at the summer’s first family fun day – donkey rides, bug hunts and interesting displays from the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary and Greenways.
“We want to thank the Friends of Holywells Park, the Rangers and others for playing such a big part in making this day a success.
“Next Wednesday we’ve got a free family day at the movies as the cinema comes to Holywells.”
