A SHOWCASE of young dancing talent entertained the business community on Ipswich Waterfront to mark the start of work on the new DanceEast building.
Youngsters from the JS dance group, part of Ipswich-based DanceEast, performed at the gates of the building site yesterday afternoon to celebrate the important milestone.
After the event, guests were invited to attend a special reception at the Old Custom House.
DanceEast has recently received £5,000 donations from Ipswich Building Society and Medite Shipping Company and has only £440,000 to raise before hitting the target needed to build the new dance house on the waterfront.
Assis Carreiro, director of DanceEast, said: “It was a real party atmosphere.
“It's the beginning of the last stage of the project and we are hoping to get the extra funds we need from the business community.”
