ALESHA Dixon is to play Ipswich's Regent theatre, it has today been announced.

The singer will be bringing her tour to the town on Monday November 9.

Theatre manager David Mansfield said: “With smash hit after smash hit and gold selling album fast approaching platinum, Alesha Dixon has announced her own fabulous headline tour.

“Alesha first hit the charts with girl band Mis-Teeq, but people of a certain age will probably remember her better as the vivacious winner of Strictly Come Dancing a couple of years ago.

“Her solo career has brought her a series of Top 10 hits and her first UK tour is certain to be bursting with energy. Tickets are expected to sell very quickly.

“This should be a fantastic night and we are delighted to welcome her to the Regent. This is a great coup for the venue and a brilliant addition to our autumn programme.”

Since her chart success The Boy Does Nothing and Breathe Slow, Alesha Dixon has sold over 750,000 records and most recently completed an awe inspiring epic climb to the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro helping raise over 3 million for Comic Relief.

A spokesman for the star said: “Having supported Latino heartthrob Enrique Iglesias on several dates of his European tour Alesha is ready to fly solo and for the first time fans will be able to see her perform with a live band exclusively for them on a 17-date UK tour kicking off in Nottingham on October 20 and finishing at London's Shepherds Bush Empire on November 12.”

Tickets are 18.50 and are available from the box office on 01473 433100.
