MANY darts teams may hope for a double or a triple, but one team from Stowmarket has hit a quadruple - and not on the scoreboard.

Four players from the Ladies Team at Capone's Bar, in Stowmarket, have announced they are pregnant, meaning half the team will be on maternity leave at once.

The team, from the pub in Station Road, has only been formed for two years and is now looking for players to cover the months that founding members will need off.

Jemma Jones, 26, was the first out of the team to announce she was pregnant.

She said: "It was quite funny when we all found out.

"I told everyone first in the autumn last year and then everyone else just kept announcing the same news week after week.

"The darts night has since turned into more of a mother's and babies group with everyone chatting about what will happen when the babies come along.

"We were all friends before we formed the team so it has been nice for us to go through it together.

"Hopefully we will all meet back up and start playing again once our babies are born and can continue on with the baby talk."

Emma Shave, Jo Chenery and Sarah Cook, the other expectant mothers from Stowmarket, will all have their babies by the autumn this year.

Ms Jones, of Bury Street, added: "Being pregnant hasn't hindered our performances really but it has changed our balance slightly.

"I still think even with our bumps we make a pretty competitive team to play against."
