Motorists in east Ipswich are being told that temporary traffic lights on two of the busiest roads are due to come down this week once work has finished.
Gas contractors Cadent, formerly the National Grid Gas Distribution, began work on Monday to connect homes to the gas network in Woodbridge Road, resulting in temporary traffic lights being put up.
The work has caused some minor delays in the road, which is one of the busiest in east Ipswich, but work is due to be completed on Thursday, June 8.
Temporary traffic lights have also been put up in Felixstowe Road near the Malvern Close junction, also for gas network connections by Cadent.
Work there is due to finish on Friday, June 9.
A statement by the firm on the roadworks.org website said: “Cadent (formerly National Grid Gas Distribution) are carrying out essential works in the road to connect properties to the gas network.
“We do this to ensure they can access energy from their chosen gas supplier.”
