A British soldier killed in an explosion in southern Afghanistan has been named as Senior Aircraftman Christopher Bridge, from Sheffield, of 51 Squadron, RAF Regiment.
The 20-year-old died in the blast in the early hours of yesterday morning, the Ministry of Defence said.
A civilian interpreter was also killed in the attack outside Kandahar airfield. Two other servicemen, also from the RAF Regiment, and a second interpreter suffered minor injuries.
