Budding photographers have been given more time to take part in the Sounds of Suffolk photography competition.

The deadline for entries has now been extended until 11.59pm on Sunday August 13 with the winner set to take home a cash prize of £250.

The competition was created by hearing care specialists The Hearing Centre in association with Archant Suffolk to raise awareness of untreated hearing loss and to encourage suffers to seek help.

Entrants have been encouraged to snap pictures capturing the ‘sounds of Suffolk’ - from bands playing at Ipswich Music Day to farmers bringing in the harvest.

The Hearing Care Centre’s managing director Karen Finch said: “People with good hearing often don’t realise the impact even mild hearing loss has on the enjoyment of ordinary things around us – we want our competition and the campaign to draw attention to some of the sounds that hard-of-hearing people cannot hear.”

Entries should be sent to and be labelled with the entrant’s name, address, phone number and the title/date/location of the photograph.
