AN Ipswich lorry driver arrested following the death of a cyclist in a collision was today released on police bail.
The 38-year-old was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after the cyclist, a foreign national, was killed in a collision on the A12.
Emergency services were called to the south-bound carriageway shortly after 7am on Monday
and fought to save the life of the 48-year-old cyclist before he was declared dead at the scene.
The lorry driver was taken to Colchester police station to be questioned before being bailed to return on November 14.
The accident caused major delays as rush hour traffic was directed onto the A120 to Witham and Chelmsford.
Police officers investigating the collision asked for anyone who witnessed it to come forward by contacting Stanway road policing unit on 01206 762512.
