The death of a 28-year-old man whose body was found in an Ipswich carpark over the weekend is being treated as “non-suspicious”, police said.

Emergency services were called to Lower Brook Street, near the town centre, at 7am on Saturday after concerns were raised for a man’s safety.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, a cordon was put up and investigation was launched.

Police initially said the death was being treated as unexplained.

Today, Suffolk Constabulary confirmed the death was considered non-suspicious.

A force spokesman said: “Extensive inquiries have been carried out and following the results of a home office post mortem, held on Sunday 5 November, police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

“Next of kin are aware and police are preparing a file for the coroner.”
