Death of OAP takes toll to 58

A PENSIONER has died from injuries she suffered in an accident just two days before Christmas on a Suffolk road, bringing the death toll on the county's roads in 2001 to 58.

A PENSIONER has died from injuries she suffered in an accident just two days before Christmas on a Suffolk road, bringing the death toll on the county's roads in 2001 to 58.

Helen Manning, 78, suffered chest injuries in the December 23 road accident and died on January 1.

Mrs Manning, of The Owell, Pakenham, was a back seat passenger in a Skoda involved in a single-vehicle crash at Church Road, Pakenham.

The vehicle left the road and collided with a telegraph pole.
