Delays on the B1077 Westerfield Road in Westerfield, near Ipswich, have been caused by repairs to a burst water main.

Anglian Water was yesterday called to reports of homes experiencing no water or low water pressure at around 8am.

While water has been restored, the road is currently still closed northbound between the Hall Lane and Lower Road junctions while resurfacing takes place.

An Anglian Water spokeswoman said: “We’re sorry customers in Witnesham area may have experienced low water pressure or had no water yesterday morning.

“This was because of a burst main on the B1077.

“The water pipe has now been repaired and customers supplies should be back to normal.

“When customers first turn on the tap the water may look cloudy or discoloured.

“This is just millions of tiny air bubbles and running the tap for a couple of minutes should clear it.

“Equally, cloudy water should also clear gradually if you leave the water to stand for a short time.

“The road remains closed and a diversion route is in place whilst we repair the road surface.

“The road will be reopened by the end of the day tomorrow.

“We thank customers for their patience whilst we work to get the road back to normal.”
