A SUDBURY teenager is dancing for joy following the release of his A-level results today - which mean he can pursue his dreams of a career on the stage.

Joe Lambert, 18, received confirmation of a place at the prestigious Laban Dance School in London on the back of his achievement of a B in A-level dance, a C in philosophy and ethics and a merit in B-Tech music and theatre.

Laban combined with the Trinity College of Music in 2005 to form the first conservatoire for music and dance in the UK and Joe is delighted to be able to take his previous experience with the institution on to the next level.

He said: “I've been going to the centre for advanced training at Laban every Saturday for the past one and a half years so it's a dream come true that all the effort put into that has paid off with a place on the course.”

Along with featuring in many of the productions at Sudbury Upper School over the past seven years, the contemporary dance enthusiast says his biggest achievement to date was a part in the Laban and Trinity production of Excellent at the Sadler's Wells Dance House in Islington.
