POLICE are appealing for information after a fast food delivery man was threatened with a screwdriver and attacked in Lowestoft.

The incident happened at about 6.50pm yesterday > as the man made a delivery to a house in Raglan Street.

He was getting back into his vehicle when a man approached him and pulled him from the car. A second man was standing close by.

They threatened the victim with a screwdriver and demanded he hand over money.

It was only when another vehicle approached that the offenders gave up and fled empty handed, joined by a third man who had been standing across the road.

The delivery man was left shaken but unhurt.

The first man is described as white, aged in his late teens or early 20s, about 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build, with a thin face, a large nose and a dark mark to the right of his nose, just above his lip.

He had a close cropped haircut, a dirty appearance and was wearing a black tracksuit with a single light coloured stripe on the leg and either side of the zip on the top.

The second man is white, shorter than the first man, with a fuller face and very short blond hair. He was wearing a deep burgundy sweatshirt, blue jeans and had a coin shaped gold ring on his right hand.

Detective Constable Gary Small said: "We have very good descriptions of the two men involved and would appeal to anyone who may recognise them to contact us.

"We would also like to hear from anyone who may have been in the area, particularly the driver of the vehicle who appears to have scared the offenders off and the man who ran off with the offenders."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det Con Small on 01986 835100 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
