Detectives search for assault gang

A MAN is today recovering from head injuries including a fractured eye socket after being attacked in an Ipswich subway.

Four people, including one woman, were believed to have assaulted the victim as he walked through the town centre subway at around 11.

Four people, including one woman, were believed to have assaulted the victim as he walked through the town centre subway at around 11.40pm on Wednesday.

The 34-year-old man was taken to Heath Road hospital where he was treated for his injuries following the attack in the underpass which links St. Matthews Street with Civic Drive.

Detectives investigating the assault have described it as serious and are currently looking at CCTV footage from the subway in a bid to find the gang.

One of the assailants is described as a white male wearing a white hooded jacket and a baseball cap.

Another was described as a black male wearing a jacket and a dark baseball cap, while the other male was white and wearing a dark jacket and trousers.

The female attacker was also white with blond hair and wearing light jeans and a dark jacket.
