Distraction burglar sought in Ipswich

IPSWICH police are appealing for information following a distraction burglary in the town's Lavenham Road.

An 86-year-old man returned to his home and left his door open temporarily while he took his shopping in to the kitchen.

IPSWICH police are appealing for information following a distraction burglary in the town's Lavenham Road.

An 86-year-old man went to close his door he found a man standing there.

The offender said he was going to do some work in the man's garden and him if he could show him the trees.

He agreed but after the offender had left the man saw some cash had been taken.

The offender is described as in his late 30's, 5ft 8in and thick set.

He had short light-coloured hair.
