The popularity of the Antiques Roadshow in Suffolk was proven when it visited Ipswich in 1985.
In 1985, residents of Ipswich queued all along the streets outside the Corn Exchange to see the Antiques Roadshow in Ipswich, transforming the venue into the set where the show’s experts have a look at items brought in by members of the community.
All items that are featured on the show however, are appraised before the filming, to ensure that all the items they feature have worth and are not fakes, to avoid humiliating the owner on TV.
The Antiques Roadshow is coming back to Suffolk in August this year, this time, visiting Helmingham Hall, celebrating their 40th anniversary on the air, which will also mark presenter, Fiona Bruce’s 10th series hosting The Antiques Roadshow.
