A 35-year-old man from Ipswich has been arrested after a woman was grabbed by the hip while walking her dog in Kesgrave.
It follows an incident that took place in Dobbs Drift in Kesgrave in the early hours of Wednesday, September 5.
According to a police spokesman, at around 7am a woman in her early 50s was walking her dog when she was approached by an unknown man who grabbed her left hip.
The woman shouted at him and he released his grip but he remained in the vicinity.
Police were called and searched the area.
A short time later they arrested a man who was taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
The woman was unharmed in the incident.
Ionuts Natase, 35, of no fixed address, was later charged with assault and use of threatening or abusive words or behaviour and appeared before Suffolk Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, September 6.
