POLICE are investigating an attempted artifice burglary in Suffolk where a man tried to dupe cash from an elderly couple.

The offender, described as 6ft, stocky, with a beard and glasses, called at the door of an 87-year-old and 86-year-old couple in Winchester Road, Bury St Edmunds, at around 11.20am on Saturday
He said he needed money to collect his grandfather from hospital in a taxi, and lied and said his grandfather was their neighbour.
The couple refused and the man drove away in a red saloon car.
