Suffolk police were called to the crash on Woodbridge Road, near to the junction of Argyle Street at around 5.25pm.

Only one vehicle, a blue BMW, was involved in the crash.

Crews from Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service released a passenger from the vehicle, before the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust took them to hospital.

Their injuries are not thought to be serious at this time, a police control room operator said.

The road was closed for more than an hour while emergency services attended the collision. It was partially reopened shortly after 6.30pm and had fully reopened by 8pm.

It is unclear whether any further action was taken against the driver.
