A MOTORIST had to be cut free from his car tonight after an accident on the A1095 at Blythburgh between Reydon and the A12.

The man suffered serious injuries and had to be taken to James Paget Hospital following the crash, which happened just before 10.30pm.

Fire crews from Southwold, Wrentham and the pump rescue tender from Lowestoft attended the single vehicle accident and cut the man - who was driving a Volvo S40 - free from his car.

It was initially thought his injuries were life threatening but a spokesman for Suffolk police said he believed the driver was conscious upon arriving at hospital.
