THREE people were taken to hospital after a crash on the A14 sliproad near Asda.

The crash involved four vehicles and the victims included two drivers and a passenger.

The accident caused chaos as the slip road towards the Copdock interchange was closed off as the emergency services – including the East Anglian air ambulance – attended the scene.

It turned out to be a series of shunts with drivers going into the back of each other. The smash happened just after 12.30pm Saturday.

All those hurt suffered minor injuries and returned home from Ipswich Hospital later in the day.

In a separate accident another motorist was taken to Ipswich Hospital after a car left the road and went down an embankment off the A14.

The accident happened just before 12.40pm yesterday on the Ipswich-bound side of the carriageway just before the turn off to Great Blakenham.
