A DRIVER suffered potentially life threatening injuries tonight in a “serious” collision on the A14 involving two lorries.
The accident happened on the eastbound carriageway just after 8.30pm close to the junction with the A142 at Kentford, near Newmarket.
A spokesman for Suffolk police said one driver had been freed from the wreckage but another was still trapped and seriously hurt.
“At the moment his injuries are not life-threatening but this could possibly change later on,” he said.
He added that the eastbound carriageway was likely to be totally blocked for sometime while accident investigators studied the scene and the two HGVs were recovered.
Firefighters from Newmarket and Cambridge are also attending along with the ambulance service.
