POLICE today named the man who died in a crash at the Suffolk village of Bures.
John Wheeler, of Moat Lane, Bures, died in Colchester General Hospital after his Ford Galaxy collided with a Ford Mondeo.
The accident happened shortly before 6.30pm on Friday on the B1508 at Bures.
Fire crews had to free both drivers from their cars.
The death was the third on Suffolk's roads this year, continuing an alarming rise in the number of lives lost. There were 59 people killed on the county's roads last year – the highest toll for 13 years.
A Land Rover Discovery is believed to have been in the area at the time Mr Wheeler was killed, and Suffolk police appealed for any witnesses the accident to call 01473 613500.
