A TRIMLEY man who sold heroin to an undercover policeman has been jailed for three years.

Dean Stansby was arrested after he supplied drugs on five occasions to the policeman during an operation set up to target drug suppliers in Ipswich town centre, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

Stansby, 33, of St Mary's Close, Trimley St Mary admitted five offences of supplying heroin and breaching a community order imposed last year for six drug related offences.

Jailing him for three years Judge Peter Fenn said that heroin wrecked people's lives and the supply of heroin was regarded as a very serious matter by the courts.

David Wilson, prosecuting, said that between April 7 and April 15 this year Stansby had supplied the undercover test purchase officer with heroin on five occasions.

Roger Thomson for Stansby, said he had been using drugs on and off for a number of years.
