Drug smuggler jailed
A LORRY driver has been jailed for eight years for attempting to smuggle £2 million of drugs into Felixstowe.Emilius Van Hest, 32, of Holland, pleaded guilty to two counts of importing drugs on December 12 last year.

Emilius Van Hest, 32, of Holland, pleaded guilty to two counts of importing drugs on December 12 last year.
A total of 720 kilograms of cannabis and 500 grams of cocaine were found in his lorry.
Ipswich Crown Court heard that the drugs had a street value of more than £2 million.
Felixstowe customs officers seized nearly a kilo of cocaine and 760 kilos of cannabis in the early hours of the 12th December last year.
The drugs were found in the back of a lorry being driven by Van Hest, following the arrival

John Barber, regional spokesman for customs & excise said: "Class A drugs such as cocaine remain a top priority. In line with the UK Government's drugs strategy, Customs are working with our partners at home and abroad to reduce the availability of hard drugs like cocaine and heroin.

smuggling such drugs into our country."
