POLICE officers who searched for drugs at an Ipswich house found a baby lying on a settee close to where heroin and cocaine were hidden, a court has heard.

Six wraps of heroin and four of cocaine were found hidden on the settee at a house in Spring Road, Ipswich Crown Court heard.

Before the court was Damian Adolphine, 22, of Spring Road, who admitted two offences of possessing heroin and cocaine with intent to supply and two offences of being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine.

Jailing him for three years Recorder David Anderson said police had found a baby lying on the settee on top of where the drugs were hidden.

Lynne Shirley for Adolphine said at the time of the offences her client owed £2,000 and had offered to supply drugs to get money to settle his debts.

She said her client was not a user of class A drugs and he regretted offering to sell them as he was aware of the effect they had on peoples' lives.
