A FURIOUS drunk man accidentally smashed an estate agents window with his electronic tag, a court heard.

Lee Emmons, of Lightfoot bail hostel in Ipswich, lashed out in anger after someone had removed his tag during a drinking session, South East Suffolk Magistrates' Court was told.

He had been given the tag as part of a previous sentence.

Emmons threw the Premier Monitoring device at his pal but instead it missed and shattered the window of Abbotts Estate Agents causing £300 damage.

Emmons, 22, admitted criminal damage and three counts of assault on police after he spat at two officers and kicked another in the groin.

David Davies, mitigating, said Emmons had gone to the pub to mark an anniversary and someone removed his tag as a joke.

He took objection and "threw the tag at the person who removed it," said Mr Davies.

Mr Davies added Emmons was "extremely apologetic and remorseful" about his actions toward the officers.

District Judge David Cooper told him: "this was outrageous violence" before sentencing him to three months to run concurrently.
