TWO tiny kittens used up some of their nine lives when they were dumped in a bin and came within seconds of being crushed by a rubbish compactor.

The lucky kitties, just two or three days old, were a whisker from death when workmen heard their mewing and went to their rescue at a tip in Brampton.

The pair are now recovering at the Wood Green Animal Shelter in Godmanchester.
