A FORMER headteacher and one of his former pupils have raised more than £3,000 towards their target to take part in a sponsored walk on the Great Wall of China.
Michael Woods, 60, and Matthew Holden, 19, have just £2,000 left to raise before they set off in June for the sponsored walk in aid of the St Elizabeth Hospice.
The pair have two major fund raising events coming up. On Saturday, February 23, Hadleigh and District Round Table is organising a camel racing night at Hintlesham Hall Golf Club. Tickets will be available mid-January by calling Dan Moat, on 01473 822249.
On Saturday, March 16, Hadleigh and District 41 club will be holding an evening of jazz and swing with Tom Collins and his Jazzband and The Swing Machine, at Hadleigh High School sports barn, starting at 8pm. For tickets contact Mr Woods, on 01473 823798, or Mr Holden, on 01473 827208.
