HOMES in Ipswich are infected with more than 100 thousand billion dust mites, figures revealed today.

The dust mites trigger many medical conditions such as asthma and bronchitis and are often found in mattresses.

The figures have been worked out by the firm, No More Mites, which calculated that the average home has more than two million dust mites in its mattresses and multiplied this by 49,869 homes in the town.

The firm provides new business owners with everything they need to operate a mattress cleaning business in Ipswich, including equipment, training and a bomb proof sales method.

Freddie Rayner, who has launched the business, said: “People have no idea they are sharing their beds with so many disgusting little bed mites.

“You spend a third of your life lying on a mattress which is full of bugs.

“No More Mites shows people how badly infected their mattresses are, and then cleans and sterilises the mattress in front of them.”
