REGIONAL train operator Greater Anglia and tourism promotion body Visit East Anglia have teamed up to launch a new package of discounts for tourists and visitors.
Two new brochures, Explore East Anglia and Experience East Anglia, contain vouchers which, in conjunction with a valid train ticket, offer spring-time savings on accommodation, restaurants, visitor attractions and shopping around Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk.
Both publications are available free at railway stations, and vouchers can also be downloaded from the train company’s website, at www.greateranglia.co.uk .
The promotion aims to provide an early-season boost to tourism, a key element within the East Anglian economy, and to make rail travel a more attractive and affordable option for visitors.
Each brochure also provides information about places to explore and experience around the region, with a focus on the “great outdoors”.
As well as the Broads National Park, the region can boast three Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and many railway stations on the Greater Anglia network offer easy access to walking and cycling trails, parks, green spaces and nature reserves.
Lucy Downing of Visit East Anglia said, “East Anglia is a fantastic place for a short break or holiday, whether you’re in search of a quiet get-away-from-it-all escape, a walking or cycling holiday, or a bustling city break brimming with culture, heritage and shopping.
