Suffolk singer Ed Sheeran is 26 today and he is celebrating his birthday by releasing another track from his forthcoming album.

Last night the star teased his 17.3 million Twitter followers by tweeting ‘26’.

And this morning the Framlingham-based star tweeted: “As it’s my birthday I dropped a new song called How Would You Feel (Paean), give it a listen while I eat some cake x”.

Ed recently returned to the spotlight after a year-long hiatus and has enjoyed a hugely successful comeback.

His first two songs released from his new album Divide (styled ÷), Shape of You and Castle on the Hill, have already been the UK number one and two respectively for the last five consecutive weeks.

He set a new Official Chart record as the first artist to enter the charts at the top two positions with two new tracks.

Divide is due to be released on March 3, and Sheeran revealed on Wednesday that the third single from the album would be released at midnight last night, although it was actually posted later in the morning.

The single is track 11 out of 16 on the new album.

Lyrics of the new song, thought to include the guitar and light drums, reportedly include: “How would you feel / If I told you I loved you / It’s just something that I want to do / I’m taking my time, spending my life / Falling deeper in love with you / So tell me that you love me too.”

Ed has sent social media into meltdown on several occasions in recent months, including his social media return on December 13, 2016, exactly a year after his hiatus to travel the world and revealing the name of his next album last month.
