An 18-year-old man arrested in connection with an arson attack on four Ipswich homes has been remanded in custody ahead of a crown court appearance.
Edvinas Janavicius, of Norwich Road in Ipswich, was arrested on suspicion of arson after police were called to reports of several properties in Bramford Road being damaged by fire at around 6.20am on Saturday.
Officers were also called to reports a home was broken into and man reportedly assaulted in Bramford Road that same morning.
Janavicius was charged with four counts of arson, aggravated burglary with intent and possession of class B drugs in connection with the incidents.
Appearing at South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich today, no pleas were given on the arson and assault charges.
He pleaded guilty to possession of class B drugs.
Janavicius was remanded in custody until his trial at Ipswich Crown Court on March 5.
