Police are investigating a robbery in Colchester

An elderly woman was robbed in a block of flats in Ipswich.

The incident happened at around 5pm, in Oaklee on Thursday.

The woman was followed into a communal corridor of the block by a man, who grabbed her handbag from her shoulder.

The offender, who is described as white, between 18 to 22 years old, approximately 5’6” tall and of a slim build, ran off towards Bourne Park.

He was wearing a grey hooded top, baseball cap and grey tracksuit trousers.
