The six candidates hoping to be MP for Ipswich by the end of the week have been to their final election hustings in the town.
They were at the Jerwood Dance House on the town’s Waterfront for a business hustings organised by Ipswich Central.
The Question Time-style session was moderated by Archant Suffolk Editor-in-Chief Terry Hunt – and saw questions covering a number of areas from business leaders in the town.
Subjects covered ranged from the need to improve skills training in schools to homelessness in the town centre. The need to find employees in the area with enough skills for the new hi-tech industries that are growing up in Ipswich was a major concern.
There was a question about the need to support small businesses – and also questions about whether a future government would be able to afford the investment needed in the town because of the need for further austerity.
