TRAFFIC was held up today after a car was in collision with an electricity pylon and live cables fell over the road.
Emergency crews including four fire engines were called to the A120 between Braintree and Dunmow at around 7am.
The cables had come free from the pylon and covered both carriageways of the road, commonly used by Suffolk motorists travelling to Stansted airport.
The road was closed and firefighters were put on standby while the electricity board travelled to the scene.
One woman was hurt in the crash and was taken to hospital by the Essex ambulance service.
