The moment was captured by reader James Meadows, whose wildlife photos are often featured on the pages of the Star.
Mr Meadows, 58, of Gloucester Road, Ipswich, took the snap during February half term when the country was enjoying slightly more favourable weather.
The keen photographer said: “It was a lovely warm week so we decided at the last minute to go take a trip to Colchester Zoo. The photo opportunity happened by chance. I just looked round and there it was.
“I've heard several suggestions as to what they were doing, some of which aren't printable, but I think they were just playing around.”
Jambo has since left the zoo for Valencia as part of a breeding programme and Kito is due to join him - and this snapshot shows they should be pleased to be re-united.
